YouTube removes Georgia GOP candidate’s “deportation bus” video for hate speech

YouTube has removed a video touting Georgia GOP gubernatorial candidate Michael Williams’ “deportation bus” for violating its hate speech standards.

Williams, a Republican state senator who is polling in the low single digits in the state’s gubernatorial race, posted the minute-long advertisement to YouTube on Tuesday showing off the “deportation bus” he will take around the state in hopes of appealing to anti-immigration voters.

Williams’ tour will drive the “deportation bus” around Georgia’s sanctuary communities, DeKalb and Clayton counties.

“It’s not going to be one of those pansy, political bus tours,” Williams promises.

“DANGER! MURDERERS, RAPISTS, KIDNAPPERS, CHILD MOLESTORS, AND OTHER CRIMINALS ON BOARD,” reads a warning on the rear door of the bus. “FOLLOW ME TO MEXICO.”

Williams and YouTube did not immediately respond to VICE News’ request for comment.

Williams, an early backer of Donald Trump during the 2016 election, promises that, if elected, he will act to deport undocumented immigrants. He has repeatedly attempted to showcase himself as an “anti-establishment” candidate, a strategy that helped propel Trump to the White House.

“We’re not just going to track them and watch them roam around our state,” Williams says of undocumented immigrants in the video. “We’re going to put them on this bus and send them home.”

This isn’t Williams’ first attempt at a stunt to grab attention. Last October, the same month a gunman used assault rifles equipped with bump stocks to massacre nearly 60 people in Las Vegas, Williams raffled off a bump stock on his Facebook page to “take a stand against the leaders of the liberal progressive left who are trying to take away our second amendment rights.”

Williams is one of five men running for the GOP nomination for Georgia’s governor. According to a recent poll, he is in last place, with about 3 percent of respondents saying they support him for governor.
